Kenyan Media on the INTERNET

First off Radio Africa,  it’s 2009!!! In case that slipped your minds…Kiss Fm’s site has been under construction for over 2 years and I think they are using wasee was MJENGO literally!

Even The Nairobi Star’s site has been under construction for over a year…no word on a Classic 105 site, you’d think the most popular breakfast show would be streaming online for the thousands of fans abroad but wapi!! Their lack of groups/pages on social networks just shows someone at Radio Africa is afraid of the internet for some reason

Only X-fm and East Fm have groups on Facebook and for the X-fm pages they’re growing by the day…plus the radio DJ’s who are on X are very very active on Facebook.

Capiro has a hot site, but locally it gives people problems cause it’s heavy on flash…Capiro has had a site from back in the day and their presence on Facebook is felt, they have groups for all their shows!!! But don’t go rushing in to those groups thinking you are going to have any fun…no! For the last month or so one of their most active group ‘Capiro in the morning’ has been reduced to one or two wall posts from a lady called ‘Mutheu Mutua’ who I think is the greatest groupie wha! She’s on their every page and the things she posts UTTER NONSENSE…moving on

NMG’s online presence is STRONG!! They have at least 6 fan pages on Facebook for their different products,  combined their fan base is a whooping 70,000 plus! The NMG site is the most visited site in East Africa and after years of ignoring online streaming for radio…I’m happy to report that Easy FM does stream online

Easy1

KTN also has a strong online presence and on Facebook they have a very active fan page which is updated at least 4 times a day!

KTN

RMS has a site where you can look through all their 100 stations hehe am joking and if you didn’t know,  Hot 96 does stream online! To who? Don’t know

citizen-tv

KBC also has a very very dull site…it’s like a word document with fancy wordart aih!

Kameme FM streams online and my auntie tells me it has a huge following abroad

Ghetto radio has a very very interactive site you should visit it here it’s really good and they do stream online!

Homeboyz is not ‘asleep’ they realized their target market was on Facebook and when they went on air their Facebook group already had like 2,000 members…they also stream online

I wonder who said that Homeboyz radio site is hot maybe y mistaken (Host Monster)-Nil

  10. What in the world is the problem with Nomi posting whatever she wants? The whole website, she’s the only one you’ve seen. Small minds talk about other people. Or is it a case of the person you’d love to hate?

Ed note she posts a LOT! And listen before I wrote that piece I went through like 27,000 wall posts and she takes the lion share of the posts

Never met Mutheu no reason to hate her and BTW ask her what she’s gaining from Media Madness

  11. I wish classic 105 would start a site. It would be super juicy.

I cannot believe you did not include CFM. Ngatho hapa ni objectivity ama subjectivity? Ata kama you hate CFM as a citizen journalist you must jaribu to be objective.

Ed Note Sweetie did you even read the whole story?? Capital is featured in great detail! Check below the XFM logo
